Tank Definition, parts & specifications

The system captures specifications, inspection history and structural behaviour of each part, forming the basis for reliable inspection plans and remaining-life calculations. Operational data, risk analysis and compliance come together into a clear integrity strategy, defining what is needed to keep each tank safely in service.

Insight at asset level

At tank level, the system creates valuable information by studying various data sources. This information is needed to understand the asset’s behaviour, its current condition and what will affect that condition in terms of remaining life.

This allows the asset owner to focus on what matters most in regard to asset availability and cost effectiveness. Insight drives integrity. It includes all relevant parts that require a proactive approach and must not fail. For each part, it includes individual RBI, RCM and TBI strategies, resulting in various inspection & maintenance scenarios for long-term planning, including detailed inspection plans. It is based on the API 580, API 653 and EEMUA 159 guidelines and will be customised to local requirements and legislation.

Control at terminal level

For the entire terminal, an overview is obviously very helpful. The repair scenarios from each tank, including a cost label and logistical demand, will help focus efforts and determine what actions can justifiably wait.

Also, by comparing data from various tanks, typos or outliers can be intelligently identified by our ‘DOIS’ engine. It can also be used to perform a similar service assessment. Inventure also created a so-called ‘Tank Grade’ for each tank, representing the actual fitness of the tank, not in terms of inspection intervals but in terms of real condition.

All in all, the tank farm overview will provide key results and indicators, current… and for next year.

Compare across sites

At a global level, the system enables organisations to compare performance across sites. Condition states, key success indicators and availability can be benchmarked per terminal, creating transparency, consistency and a clear basis for targeted improvement worldwide.
